Position Summary:
Provide technical and procedural skills for the design,
analysis, development, and implementation of complex object and service oriented
system architectures. Responsible for testing, benchmarking, maintaining,
supporting, and documentation of existing or new systems developed at the Center
for Biosecurity and Public Health Informatics Research. Responsible for supporting
system users and other programmer analysts as required.
Position Key Accountabilities
- Provide skill, consultation, and technical competency regarding design, analysis,
development, and deployment of Object Oriented (OO), and Service Oriented
Applications (SOA) in a distributed system environment.
- Design,
analyze, and implement new systems, algorithms, methodologies, and
software applications as required by supervisors or users, or update
and modify existing codes to accommodate changes in business
logic and new requirements by system users.
- Develop, implement, and follow quality assessment, control, and evaluation
methods and instruments to ensure quality, consistency and integrity of
the products produced.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues, bugs, inconsistencies, and performance
problems in existing systems and provide reporting and follow-up procedures
to track and manage issues.
- Train
and educate, online or offline, on site or remotely, system users or
team members and colleagues to ensure understanding and operationalization
of sytems.
- Adheres
to departmental standards, procedures, and protocols.
- Possibly lead a project or activity and provide guidance, management, and directives
for other team members as required.
- Other
duties as assigned by supervisors.
Certifications/Skills
Professional competency in JAVA and/or C# .NET framework,
Computer Hardware, TCP/IP networking and Professional Programming Skills in
above mentioned development environments.
Minimum Education
Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field.
Minimum Experience
Two years of professional programming experience is desired.
All applicants need to produce sample code developed in previous programming
engagements and participate in hands on tests to demonstrate competency at OOD
and SOA.
